Loc-Alert / Mid-Century Modern

This little gem is tucked away in Wheaton and I am not sure how anyone would find it on their own! And, to make things trickier, it is only open on Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6. Somehow my sister stumbled upon it and am so I glad she did. Now, it's not for everyone--but if you love vintage home goods, or the mid-century aesthetic, you must go. I wanted to buy half of the store! The prices are what you would expect, with some highs and lows mixed in. You really could make any space special with a few one-of-a-kind pieces from this shop. Go!

Maybe I will see you there.

inside Kate Spade's home

you find color well used.

I found these lovely pictures a The Selby. You should check out his work; he captures sneak peaks into the homes/lives of some interesting people and beautiful spaces.

husband and wife team...

...interesting interview from couple, self-taught in interior design. I liked their ideas on creating modern spaces that are easy to live in, even with kids.

and a few images of spaces that they have put together:

Inspired by your work space?

Sometimes I am and sometimes I am not. It's important though and I am still honing in on what it takes to get there. Dan found this interesting video on the role of a desk I thought it was thought provoking:

Here are work spaces that are visually inspiring to me:

I will post pictures of my studio soon.

If I had 1000$ to spend redecorating the nursery...

I would spend it all on this chair:

Ok, maybe not, but I love it. I have seen it floating around some design blogs recently and have had chair envy-ever since.

Here are a few ideas on 1000$ better spent in the nursery (I have yet to find a cute/less expensive chair to replace the pretty blue):

Clockwise: animal prints, owl mobile, crib sheet, crib, lamp, changing pad cover, dresser, rug, knobs, birdie pillow.

In the end, this look is similar to Levis nursery--I will post pictures at some point.
